Crime

 

Paul's practice has encompassed a wide range of criminal defence work before the Court of Appeal and Crown Court. He is a leading junior and a persuasive jury advocate with the ability to quickly identify the issues which will have a real impact on trial presentation.

 

He has particular experience of matters involving very serious violence and has been led in a number of high-profile murder cases.

 

Clients facing allegations of large scale public disorder, domestic violence, kidnap, aggravated burglary and armed robbery have been successfully defended.

 

His case work regularly includes those accused of a wide range of dishonesty offences - from theft to multi-million pound "missing trader" VAT frauds. 

 

Paul has frequently represented clients facing the most serious sexual offence allegations, both historic and recent. He has secured acquittals for clients alleged to be involved in some of the countries largest sexual exploitation rings.

 

He has acted in many cases concerning complex & wide-reaching conspiracies to supply or import class 'A' drugs into the UK.

 

He has also defended numerous motoring prosecutions, often as a consequence of fatal road traffic collisions.

He is had represented clients accused of very serious domestic violence, often involving allegations of psychological abuse or coercive and controlling behaviour.

Coroner's Inquests

Paul represents family members at proceedings before the Coroner investigating the sudden or unnatural death of a loved one.

 

He has extensive experience of the post-mortem process and medical, forensic and toxicological reports which enables the targeted and focused questioning of experts called before the tribunal.
